NSAI industry awards presented were:

  • NSAI’s President’s Choice Award was given to attorney Denise M. Stevens of Loeb & Loeb for her contributions in authoring “The Songwriters Capital Gains Equity Act,” a landmark piece of legislation that allows songwriters to pay a lower tax rate when selling their catalogue, and for her other legislative work.  The President’s Choice Award, which recognizes an individual who has made significant contributions to the betterment of all songwriters, was presented by current NSAI President Steve Bogard.
  • The Maggie Cavender Award of Service was presented to Donna Hilley, former president and chief executive officer of Sony/ATV Music Publishing Nashville, for her years of leadership and hard work in the publishing industry. The Maggie Cavender Award is named for the woman who served as NSAI’s Executive Director for more than two decades.  The award, voted on by NSAI’s Board of Directors, is given to an individual who has significantly served the interests of the songwriting community.
  • The Stephen Foster Award was given to Connie Bradley, Senior Vice-President of ASCAP Nashville, for her unfailing support of songwriters and NSAI as an organization.
