If you listened to Rock Radio in the 90’s, Marathon Music MGMT founder Phin Daly had a behind the scenes impact on just about every song you heard and loved. As the former “Head of Rock Radio” at McGathy Promotions in New York City, he was credited with contributing to dozens of gold/platinum albums and promoted hundreds of songs to radio. From Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and Smashing Pumpkins to Foo Fighters, Live, and Creed (and everything in between), Daly played a major part in shaping the sound of rock in the 90’s. In 1999, while working at McGathy/Indegoot Entertainment, an Indie CD by an unknown band of high school kids from Mississippi landed on his desk. They called themselves “3 Doors Down”. After a few weeks of deliberation, a call was made, and Daly signed the band as a management client at Indegoot. Soon after, a record deal was signed at the newly formed Universal/Republic record label. Phin was instrumental in moulding the young band into a 16X Platinum, top grossing, Arena-Rock power house through the 2000’s In 2006, Daly left McGathy/Indegoot and founded Marathon Music MGMT. He signed 3 Doors Down as his first clients. The band’s continued longevity is a testiment to the intense long-term strategy, attention to detail, and deal making ability of the industry veteran. Shortly after parting ways, focus was turned back to discovering, developing, and breaking new talent in all genres at Marathon Music MGMT (Now based in Nashville, TN). After teaming with industry up-and-comer Jason Green for an extensive A&R period, the management duo solidified contracts with their first new clients in early 2014. www.marathonmusicmgmt.com
