Cause A Scene was founded in early 2012 as a way to showcase burgeoning artists from the Nashville area and beyond. It began as a music blog before quickly launching a house concert series before evolving into curated "secret shows"​ and pop-up concerts, hosting national-touring acts including The Lone Bellow, Shakey Graves, Noah Gundersen, Matthew Mayfield, David Ramirez, Seryn, Elenowen, John Fullbright, Matthew and the Atlas, Matthew Perryman Jones, The Vespers, Foreign Fields, Wild Child, Liz Longley, Neulore, Jenny & Tyler, Daniel Ellsworth & The Great Lakes, Alanna Royale, The Black Cadillacs and many more. In Cause A Scene's first 3+ years, the company curated over 160 shows spanning a host of venues, including Mercy Lounge, Exit/In, 12th & Porter, The Basement, The High Watt and The Stone Fox among others.

On a bigger scale, Cause A Scene is a movement dedicated to fostering a community that appreciates the wonder of music and the discovery of art and values creative collaboration with an aim to change the world for the better.
