Chelsea Kent is a 25-year-old Texas native who is making her way in the Nashville world. She began writing songs at the age of nine, which gave her the opportunity to grow up in a studio in her hometown of Waco, TX; and from there grew the dream of pursuing music as a career. She was accepted into Belmont University’s Songwriting program in the Fall of 2010, and had the opportunity to learn and grow with some of the best in the industry. Interning with Brett James’ publishing company, Cornman Music, during her second year enhanced her love for songwriting and songwriters, which led to her desire to work with and develop songwriters and artists in the future. Three months before her graduation from Belmont in a staggering two and a half years, she was offered a job from veteran producer Jimmy Ritchey (Jake Owen, Mark Chesnutt, Clay Walker, Greg Bates) and assisted him in publishing with Vibe Room Music/Crosscut Music, production, and artist management. In September 2013, Chelsea was hired on as Creative Director at Still Working Music, a publishing company founded by the late Barbara Orbison to continue the legacy of her husband Roy Orbison, by Chief Creative Officer and writer, Tommy Lee James and President, Alex Orbison. She currently works with writers Tommy Lee James, Gordie Sampson, Jon Randall, Chase Bryant (Red Bow Records), Dylan Altman, Matt Nolen, Ryan Lafferty, Derrick Southerland, and Alana Springsteen.
