Greetings NSAI Philly Songwriters!
We'll be meeting again the second day of Spring, Thursday, March 21, 2019, when hopefully this deep freeze Polar vortex weather will be back in the Arctic. Our "vernal equinox-full moon" gathering of songwriters will be an auspicious evening for all as we dive deeply into the process of co-writing. Here are details:
Thursday, March 21, 2019
7 - 10 PM
Co-Writing Workshop
Messiah United Methodist Church
527 Ridge Pike
Lafayette Hill PA 19444 (Parking around back)
This month we talk all about co-writing and knowing your role in the writing room!
Cowriting is a lot like dating in the way that one must be vulnerable to cowrite. Sharing experiences with people who are barely more than strangers can be scary, but practicing first with a friend may get rid of the nerves that come with cowriting. That's where your NSAI chapter steps in. We'll be practicing co-writing in a "safe space" with each other, breaking into small groups (depending on attendance). There is no better way than to expand your songwriting skills and learn.
Co-writing invites you into an intimate creative space where you are able to get to know someone on a deeper level. When the creative juices are flowing real magic can be made and true friendships can form alongside great songs.
Come Prepared! Bring your guitar, pen, paper, notebook or laptop. Also bring ideas for titles, or lines written down as conversation starters. These lines could be connected with other writers ideas to spark lyrical gold.
Please RSVP by return e-mail if you can join us.
RESCHEDULING WRITERS NIGHT
At this meeting, we'll also discuss possible dates for rescheduling the Writers Night in West Chester that was cancelled on February 20, because of the weather. We'll get back to everyone with the date via newsletter, social media, and our Philadelphia Chapter page on the NSAI website (www.nashvillesongwriters.com)
