NSAI Philadelphia Chapter Workshop
A LESSON IN FUNDAMENTALS--Strategies for Songwriting

Build your songwriting tool box, up-level your skill, with the goal of capturing the ears of publishers, music directors, producers, and recording artists.
ADMISSION: FREE
All songwriters welcome.
Who will benefit?
Beginning songwriters, writers new to NSAI; experienced members are also welcome to review and reinforce fundamental songwriting concepts.
What you will learn:
Among topics covered will be song structure, function, prosody and strategies key to all genres, whether country, Americana-folk-singer-songwriter, rock or pop.
WHAT TO BRING:
12 lyric sheets for one song.
Bring your guitar to play live; or you can play your songs on your phone, iPod, or a CD.
Workshop Instructor:
Philly-NSAI Chapter Co-coordinator and award winning songwriter Liz Miller will teach the workshop. Through her own intensive training and experience as a Nashville Songwriter, Liz will guide you through the fundamentals of songwriting as she provides valuable feedback and instruction on songs that are played by those attending the workshop.
In addition to winning several prestigious song contests, she has had over 40 single song contracts with publishers, has co-written with pro writers and chart topping artists, and has had cuts with independent artists. Liz has also placed songs in TV and film, has written jingles, and is a voting member or the Grammy association (NARAS).
As an artist, Liz is one half of the band The X-Conditionals whose first effort was up for a San Diego music award and signed to Big West with distribution by the Orchid.

MEETING LOCATION
Messiah Methodist Church located in Lafayette Hill is directly off Ridge Pike and shows up on Google Maps. Watch for a Methodist Church sign at the entrance of a driveway that leads to the parking lot in back of the church, go to back door to enter building and follow signs to the meeting space.
