Starting January 2020 we will have our regular monthly chapter meetings and song critiques at the Academy of Contemporary Music in Bricktown!
Come join us to get feedback and critique on your song by other locals as passionate about the craft of songwriting as you are. Or come to network with potential co-writers and collaborators! Participation is free for all NSAI members. Participants who are not NSAI members can attend two times for free, and then are asked to pay $15 per meeting. Any genre of music and all levels of experience are welcomed to join us. If you are presenting a song with lyrics, please bring 15 copies of a lyric sheet to pass out to everyone. Come prepared to either perform your song live for everyone, or bring a recording on a flash drive, CD, or any device with an 1/8" (headphone) output jack. A system to play these recordings on will be provided, or you can bring your own portable speaker if you prefer.
The Academy of Contemporary Music is located in Bricktown and parking can sometimes be a challenge. Look for metered parking (which is not enforced and is free-of-charge during our meetings times) around the intersections of Oklahoma Ave and Sheridan or Oklahoma Ave and Main. You can also park in the two lots directly North and South of ACM at a rate of $5 (or as high as $20 on nights there are big events happening downtown, but that is not common on the nights we will meet). Or, if you are eating before or after our meeting at nearby restaurants to the South, there are lots for validated parking available.
Enter the building through the East door (right off of Oklahoma Ave) and look for the Songwriting Room at the end of the hall!
