We are excited to host the NSAI Chapter Challenge at this week's meeting 4//12 2pm-5pm! This will be a hybrid meeting. You may join online with the monthly zoom link below, but we would love to have you join in-person if possible.

We will be meeting in San Francisco's SOMA neighborhood at Jody's office, PritchardPeck Lighting: 389 Clementina Street between 4th & 5th Streets. If coming in person, please plan to arrive 10-15 minutes early to get settled. Jody will be there by 1:15pm. Feel free to come early. Any questions day of, please text Jody: 415.420.2178
Street parking is sometimes available on neighborhood streets, but the 5th & Mission parking garage is easy & affordable and is a 7 minute walk. It's also just an 8-10 minute walk from the Powell Street BART station. When you arrive, please ring the doorbell to the left of the grey and black diagonally painted door.
The Chapter Challenge is a song contest open to all NSAI members - please make sure your membership is current prior to submitting. Songs must be pre-recorded and don't need to be a full demo. Simple work tapes with guitar/piano and vocals are fine. Members are only allowed to submit one song to one chapter and must be submitted using the portal. You must be present online or in-person to enter. The deadline for song submission is the beginning of the meeting 4/12 at 2pm, but please submit your songs earlier in the week as it helps us organize the meeting and setup the voting mechanism. One winner and one runner-up will be selected to represent our chapter in Round 2. An NSAI committee will select the top 20 songs from Round 2. One lucky member and one chapter coordinator will be chosen as winners. Prizes include a trip to Nashville and an opportunity to meet with a publisher.
We will be listening to each submitted song submitted and then vote online together to select our winner + runner-up. We will not have a lesson or be evaluating songs this month.

Chapter Challenge Entry Rules
- Submit a pre-recording using the link above. No live performances will be accepted.
- Songs cannot be co-written with a professional songwriter.
- Songs under/pending contract are not eligible for submission.
- Song submission must be the original work of the Songwriter without use of any artificial intelligence, and must not infringe upon the copyrights, rights of privacy, publicity or other intellectual property or other rights of any person or entity or be otherwise contrary to applicable laws and regulations.
- NSAI members in Local Chapters may submit one song at one local Chapter meeting. Multiple submissions will result in disqualification.
- Members cannot vote for their own song.
- Non-members cannot vote or submit a song in the competition.
- Voting must happen at the Chapter meeting
- Late submissions will not be accepted.
