Dan Wilson

Minnesota-born and currently residing in Los Angeles, Dan Wilson is a Harvard University-educated musician, singer, songwriter, visual artist and record producer who has been called the songwriter’s songwriter.  His songwriting resume includes “Closing Time,” which he wrote for his band Semisonic, “Not Ready To Make Nice” for The Chicks and “Someone Like You” for Adele and many more.  Wilson’s work has garnered him Grammy wins for Song of the Year, Album of the Year, and most recently for Best Country Song for Chris Stapleton’s “White Horse.” In addition to being the frontman of Semisonic, Wilson has released several solo recordings and was a member of the Minneapolis psychedelic rock band Trip Shakespeare.  Dan received one of NSAI’s coveted ’10 Songs I Wish I’d Written’ in 2024 for “White Horse” and attended the Nashville Songwriter Awards to perform the song.  Dan has been an advocate for songwriters lobbying in Congress with ASCAP and looks forward to involving himself.
