CLIFF DOWNS is an award winning artist, songwriter, and producer with success in Pop, Country, Contemporary Christian and Jazz. Downs was signed to Atlantic Records as a pop artist by legendary founder Ahmet Ertegun. Downs film and television credits include the TNT movie Red Water, David Zucker’s film American Carol, ABC’s Modern Family, CBS’s show Macgyver General Hospital and One Life to Live, NBC’s Days of Our Lives, CBS’ Young and The Restless and Aaron Spelling’s international hit show Sunset Beach. Downs’ songs have been featured in network promos for The Voice and American Idol, ABC’s New Years Rockin’ Eve, NFL Super Bowl, ESPN, Fox Sports, NBC Sochi Olympics, and many other primetime network shows. Downs has amassed over 1000 television plays and has won an Emmy for Best Original Song as well as shared in multiple other Emmy awards and nominations with composer Dominic Messinger Downs has written and produced songs for artists in all genres of music including, Gabby Barrett, Wynonna, B.J. Thomas, Paul Rogers, Glenn Campbell, Lisa Bevil, Whiskey Falls, and Jazz great Richard Elliott (number one Billboard’s contemporary jazz chart) to name a few. Downs was recently honored to learn that a song co-written with Mick Jones of the legendary rock group Foreigner’s was included in their 2017 greatest hits release “40”. Other writers that Downs has signed have had songs recorded by Florida-Georgia Line, Tim McGraw, Jason Aldean, High Valley, and many others. Other highlights include: Co-producing One Heart at a Time, a single featuring vocal performances by Garth Brooks, Olivia Newton-John, Faith Hill, Michael McDonald, Billy Dean, Neal McCoy, and Bryan White. Co-writing the musical Breaking Through which was featured at the famed Pasadena Playhouse in 2016. Playing guitar on Beatle Ringo Starr’s solo record, Ringo Rama.
