NYC CHAPTER PRESENTS "AN EVENING WITH JIM MCCORMICK"

NSAI NYC Chapter is proud to present an evening with hit songwriter Jim McCormick on Wednesday evening November 11th at 6:15pm at Ripley Grier Studios, NY.

Jim has written #1 songs for Jason Aldean and Brantley Gilbert and has had cuts by Luke Bryan, Tim McGraw, Trace Adkins, Randy Travis, Trisha Yearwood, Smashmouth and numerous others. And Harry Connick Jr’s new single “Like We Do” was written by Jim!

 

During this intimate and informative evening, Jim will address the craft of songwriting, explain how he got where he is, tell the stories behind his hit songs, and talk about his journey from being NSAI’s New Orleans chapter coordinator to a pro writer on Music Row in Nashville and a board member of NSAI. Jim will also play some songs for us. This is a rare opportunity that you won’t want to miss!

Jim recently celebrated two #1 songs on the Billboard country charts: Jason Aldean's “Take A Little Ride,” which spent 3 weeks in the top position, and Brantley Gilbert's "You Don’t Know Her Like I Do." Currently, Jim’s song “Like We Do” is the lead off single from Harry Connick Jr’s new album. McCormick’s songs also have been recorded by Luke Bryan, Tim McGraw, Keith Urban, Jamey Johnson, Randy Travis, Ronnie Milsap, Kristen Chinoweth, Smashmouth and many others. Before Jim ever made it to being a hit writer, he was also an NSAI chapter coordinator so he started where many of us are now. With a master’s degree in poetry, he definitely knows words and how to use them! He is currently a staff songwriter at BMG Chrysalis in Nashville, a board member of NSAI and the Recording Academy, and his album “The Middle of the River” is available on iTunes.
